Excellence Celebrated at The HCPTA Crystal Ball

For the ninth year running Members of the HCPTA and their guests gathered at a top London hotel to recognise and celebrate excellence in human resources in the hospitality industry.  This year the venue was the ballroom at The Dorchester Hotel, London. The theme of the evening was Crystal with a flavour of the roaring 20s & 30s.

Before enjoying a gastronomic meal, the guests representing Hotel & Catering Organisations, cheered and clapped as the Awards were presented.  HCPTA Chair Fiona Rassell of STORM Training & Development and The Viscount Thurso MP hosted the proceedings with the help of David Collins, Toastmaster.

The Awards judging panel – Steven Goss-Turner of the University of Brighton, Nigel Badminton Deputy General Manager at The Dorchester, Diana Warren, representing CIPD; and John Wright of Intercontinental Hotels & Resorts introduced the short-listed nominees and explained the criteria on which the selections had been made and the winners judged.

As in previous years the judges emphasised that their scrutiny had been rigorous and so reaching the short-list was in itself an achievement worthy of hearty congratulations.  Representatives from the Award sponsors – Aramark, Croner@CCH, DLA International Law Firm & Quest Elite carried out the presentation of the awards.  The winners of the distinctive star-shaped Tiffany trophies, cheques for £500 and a subscription to Hospitality in Focus were:
